Secondary Teachers' Superannuation (Amendment) Scheme, 1935.

The motion on the Paper with reference to the Secondary Teachers' Superannuation (Amendment) Scheme, 1935, is rendered necessary by Section 5 of the Teachers' Superannuation Act, 1928, which is as follows:—

No superannuation scheme shall come into force unless and until it has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and has been confirmed by resolution of each House.

The scheme which is the subject of the motion was laid on the Table of the Seanad on Wednesday, 20th March.

I move the motion on the Order Paper:

That the Secondary Teachers' Superannuation (Amendment) Scheme, 1935, made by the Minister for Education with the consent of the Minister for Finance under the Teachers' Superannuation Act, 1928 (No. 32 of 1928), be confirmed.

I second the motion.
