Vol. 20 No. 27

Private Business. - National Maternity Hospital, Dublin (Charter Amendment) Bill, 1936— Second Stage.

I move that the Bill be now read a Second Time. This is a Bill entitled an Act to amend the charter under which the governors of the National Maternity Hospital, Dublin, are incorporated, to alter the name of that corporation, to confer further and other powers on the said governors, to provide for the administration and control of the affairs of the corporation by an executive committee and for other purposes relating to the said hospital.

In view of the fact that there is a Commission sitting on the question of hospitals, and that its report is stated to be imminent, it seems to me that this is premature and I object to the House taking the Second Stage.

Then, that finishes it for to-day.

Second Stage ordered for Wednesday, 4th March.
