Vol. 33 No. 8

Vocational Education (Amendment) Bill, 1946—Report and Final Stages.

Question:—"That the Bill be received for final consideration,"—put and agreed to.
Agreed to take the Final Stage now.
Question proposed: "That the Bill do now pass."

I have already explained my own views on this Bill so thoroughly that I do not propose to inflict anything further on the House on this stage. But, on my own behalf and on behalf of the officers concerned, I desire to make a formal protest against Section 5 of the Bill, which is an attempt to break faith with them by modifying the conditions of Section 99 (3) of the Vocational Education Act, 1930. I content myself by making that formal protest.

Question put and agreed to.
