Vol. 41 No. 2

Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1952—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to consolidate the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1949, and certain other enactments relating to fisheries.

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

The next stage is fixed by our own Standing Orders, which state that: "The Second Stage shall be made for a date not earlier than 28 days after its introduction and the Bill and the Memoradum shall be printed." After the Christmas recess would seem to be the most suitable time to take the next stage, as this would allow for the 28 days' interval.

Question agreed to.
