Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 16 Jan 1957

Vol. 47 No. 1

Statute of Limitations Bill, 1954—Referred to Special Committee.

In accordance with the desire expressed by Senators and agreed to by the Minister, I move:—

That the Statute of Limitations Bill, 1954, be referred to a Special Committee consisting of nine Senators, to be nominated by the Committee of Selection; and that the quorum be three.

It is the Minister's desire that the Committee Stage should not begin for a fortnight or three weeks, so the committee could be appointed when the Seanad meets next. The Seanad will meet this day fortnight, I think, and it will be time enough then to appoint the committee. Alternatively, the committee could be appointed to-night.

Question put and agreed to.

The nominations can be dealt with later this evening.
