Vol. 47 No. 3

Fisheries (Consolidation) Bill, 1957—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to consolidate the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1956, and certain other enactments relating to fisheries.

Leave granted.
The following certificate by the Attorney-General was submitted:—
De bhun Buan-Ordú 91A (a bhaineas le Billí Comhdhlúite) de BhuanOrduithe Sheanad Éireann i dtaobh gnótha phoiblí, deimhnímse, Pádraig Mac Giollagáin, Ard-Aighne, leis seo gurb é atá sa Bhille thuasluaite Bille chun na hAchta Iascaigh, 1842 go 1956, agus achtacháin áirithe eile a bhaineas le hiascaigh, a chomhdhlúthú.
Arna dhátú an 21 Eanáir, 1957.
In pursuance of Standing Order 91A (which relates to Consolidation Bills) of the Standing Orders of Seanad Éireann relative to public business, I, Patrick McGilligan, Attorney-General, hereby certify that the above-mentioned Bill is a Bill to consolidate the Fisheries Acts, 1842 to 1956 and certain other enactments relating to fisheries.
Dated the 21st day of January, 1957.

As Senators are aware, no doubt, under our Standing Orders the Second Stage cannot be taken earlier than 28 days after the introduction of a Bill of this nature. I think the simplest thing to do would be to fix the date for the Second Stage at our next meeting. I move accordingly.

Agreed.
