Destructive Insects and Pests (Consolidation) Bill, 1957—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to consolidate the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts, 1877 to 1954.

In pursuance of Standing Order 91A (which relates to Consolidation Bills) of Standing Orders of Seanad Éireann relative to public business, I, Aindrias Ó Caoimh, Attorney-General, hereby certify that the above-mentioned Bill is a Bill to consolidate the Destructive Insects and Pests Acts, 1877 to 1954, and certain other enactments relating to destructive insects and pests.
Dated the 2nd day of May, 1957.

Under sub-section (4) of Standing Order 91A, the Second Stage of a Consolidation Bill cannot be taken earlier than 28 days after its introduction. Accordingly I move that the Second Stage be taken on the first day the Seanad meets after the Summer Recess.
