Vol. 51 No. 8

Business of the Seanad.

I understand that we sit to-morrow at 3 p.m. and, if necessary, sit late to finish the business on the Order Paper.

What about sitting earlier?

Would 2 o'clock suit?

I do not mind but you might have confusion, if you fix 2 o'clock.

Perhaps, then, 3 o'clock and agree to sit late to finish business, if that is at all feasible.

Is it suggested that we finish four Bills to-morrow?

It is suggested that we meet to-morrow, we hope, in a certain frame of mind.

I must protest against this indecent haste in rushing Bills through this House. Today we have dealt with legislation covering £20,000,000 and guarantees for £15,000,000 more. I do not know how much money is involved in the items on the Order Paper for tomorrow——

It is the jet age.

Appropriate to the Bill, the sky is the limit.

I am against discussions of this kind. I have already made my position clear today. I think we must meet tomorrow at 3 o'clock.

What about 10 o'clock? I think the country people should have some control and I think 10 o'clock would be very fair?

It could not be possible to arrange that at this stage.

The House will meet to-morrow at 3 o'clock to continue public business.
