Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 21 Jan 1960

Vol. 52 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

I should like to ask the permission of the Cathaoirleach to move the following motion to-day:

That Seanad Éireann approves of the statement by An Taoiseach regarding the export trade in horses.

Is the Senator anxious that the motion be taken at short notice?

I would be anxious that it be taken today.

I have no objection.

I take it the House agrees to take this motion. Perhaps the Leader of the House would indicate when he would wish it to be taken and the period he thinks necessary for the debate.

I suggest in connection with the television debate, if the debate is not finished beforehand, we should call on the Minister to conclude not later than 3.30 p.m. and that two hours from the conclusion of his statement should be ample to discuss the motion.

Agreed.
