Vol. 54 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

May I say, a Chathaoirligh, that we propose to vary the Order of Business as given today and to omit No. 4, the Pigs and Bacon (Amendment) Bill?

May I also draw your attention once again—I think I did so a couple of years ago and nothing happened since —to the fact that the Seanad bells cannot be heard in many parts of the House. It is very serious from the point of view of Senators being aware of Divisions or of the fact that the House has resumed. I suggest some action should be taken to ensure that the bells are in the same positions as the Dáil bells and can be heard in every part of the House.

I agree with the Leader of the House in this matter.

I thank the Senator for bringing this matter to my notice. I shall take it up with the proper authority.
