Votes at 18 Years: Motion.

I move:

That Seanad Éireann hereby calls on the Taoiseach to take the steps necessary to allow all persons of 18 years and over the right to vote at all referenda and parliamentary and local elections.

We merely urge the Minister to ensure that the referendum is taken in time to allow the inclusion of a considerable number of new voters when the electoral register for the coming year, 1973-74, is being compiled.
