Vol. 95 No. 15

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1 to 7, in that order.

In regard to the Order of Business, we will be taking the Second Stage of the Courts Bill today. Is it clear that it will be only the Second Stage today and not an attempt to take all Stages of this extremely important Bill? Certainly I, for one, will wish to table amendments to it and I feel sure there are other Senators who will also wish to. It is very important legislation and I feel that to deal with all Stages today would be quite detrimental in the interests of the public and this House.

It was hoped that all Stages might be taken.

Certainly I would wish to table amendments to sections 13, 14 and 15, for instance.

That can be considered when the Second Stage has been concluded.

Order of Business agreed to.
