Messages from Dáil.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have received two messages from the Dáil.

Dáil Éireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Seanad Éireann is desired:—

That it is expedient that a Joint Committee consisting of seven members of Dáil Éireann and seven members of Seanad Éireann be set up to direct and control the Oireachtas Restaurant;

That the Joint Committee, previous to the commencement of business, shall elect one of its members to be Chairman, who shall have only one vote;

That all questions in the Joint Committee shall be determined by a majority of votes of the members present and voting and in the event of there being an equality of votes the question shall be decided in the negative; and

That four members of the Joint Committee shall form a quorum of whom two shall be members of Dáil Éireann and two shall be members of Seanad Éireann.

Dáil Éireann has passed the following Resolution in which the concurrence of Seanad Éireann is desired:—

That it is expedient that a Joint Committee consisting of seven members of Dáil Éireann and seven members of Seanad Éireann be set up to assist and advise the Ceann Comhairle and the Cathaoirleach in the direction and control of the Oireachtas Library;

That the Joint Committee, previous to the commencement of business, shall elect one of its members to be Chairman, who shall have only one vote;

That all questions in the Joint Committee shall be determined by a majority of votes of the members present and voting and in the event of there being an equality of votes the question shall be decided in the negative; and

That four members of the Joint Committee shall form a quorum of whom two shall be members of Dáil Éireann and two shall be members of Seanad Éireann.

I move: "That Seanad Éireann concur in the resolutions passed by Dáil Éireann."
