Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 19 Oct 1983

Vol. 102 No. 2

Business of Seanad.

On the question of the business of the House, before we resume I can confirm that the Insurance Bill which was circulated this morning will be debated by Dáil Éireann this afternoon and it is anticipated that that debate will be concluded at 6.30 p.m. Accordingly, it would be suitable if we took it at 7.30 p.m. We would then have to deal with item No. 2 which is in progress, item No. 3 which requires three hours, with the Insurance Bill and with an earlier signature motion. If we are going to sit late, Members of the House might like to take a break between 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. and if we are to allow three hours for the private motion in the name of Fianna Fáil Senators it will be necessary to commence that motion at 3.30 p.m.

I would like to express the hope that the current debate might be finished before 3.30 p.m. but, if not, the preferable course would be to interrupt it and take item No. 3 at 3.30.

Agreed.
