Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 21 Dec 1983

Vol. 102 No. 9

Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 1983. - Business of Seanad.

That concludes the business of the Seanad. When is it proposed to sit again?

Before I announce the Adjournment of the House, we have agreed to adjourn consideration of motions 7 and 8 to a future date and we have agreed to adjourn the House until Tuesday, 17 January 1984 for a general debate on the substance of the Appropriation Bill. I hope the Minister will be available on that day. We will have a discussion on that on 17 and 18 January. I take this opportunity to wish you, the Leas-Chathaoirleach, the Opposition, the Independent Members, everybody on this side of the House, the staff, the press, the Minister and his advisers, a very happy Christmas. In view of what was said earlier today I hope 1984 will be a very peaceful year for all of us.

I do not know if I am the senior Member here, but I would like from the Opposition side of the House on a temporary basis to wish the Government a very happy and peaceful Christmas. We may change places in 1984. I would like to give that message to the Minister.

The Seanad adjourned at 6.45 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 17 January 1984.
