Vol. 108 No. 6

Order of Business.

Although it is unlikely that we will cover more than item No. 1 today, it is proposed to order Nos. 1, 2 and 3. It is proposed to take a break from 5.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and to conclude the sitting at 10 p.m. We intend to adjourn then until 10.30 a.m. tomorrow and sit from 10.30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

I would like to bring to the attention of the House, in view of the terrible things that have happened in Northern Ireland this week, that it is time we all took note of what Mr. John Hume said during the week that the people in Britain and their representatives, people here and their representatives, people in the North in both communities, should as soon as possible, have some conference, convention or assembly convened to thrash out some way in which we can live with consensus democracy and put in the past, once and for all, majority rule democracy, either the Irish or the Northern Ireland form so that we may live in peace with one another.

Order of Business agreed to.
