Vol. 122 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Nioclás Ó Conchubhair that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the extension to the vocational school at Knock, Inverin, County Galway, because of severe overcrowding and poor condition of the school.

I also received notice from Senator Katharine Bulbulia of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to recognise the grave situation facing the Waterford Teachers' Centre which may have to close if sanction cannot be given for a full-time director with adequate remuneration.

I also received notice from Senator John Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism and Transport to confirm that no obstacles will be placed in the way of the proposed flights originating in New York, via Reykjavik, and landing at Connaught Regional Airport, Charlestown, County Mayo.

I also received notice from Senator Philip Hogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to intervene immediately with the Revenue Commissioners so that the ban on the postal stamping services can be lifted forthwith.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Ó Conchubhair, Bulbulia, Connor and Hogan as suitable for discussion. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Ó Conchubhair and it will be taken at the conclusion of business tonight. Senators Bulbulia, Connor and Hogan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
