I have notice from Senator Joe O'Toole that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The anomaly of withdrawing social welfare payments including disability benefit scheme payments, assistance and pay-related payments from unemployed persons suffering from gambling addiction because they voluntarily enter a rehabilitation and treatment programme for compulsive gambling which is recognised as a disease.
I regard the matter raised by Senator O'Toole as suitable for discussion and it will be taken at the conclusion of business.
