Vol. 122 No. 13

Request under Standing Order 29.

I have notice from Senator David Norris regarding a motion he wishes to move under Standing Order 29. I call on Senator Norris to give notice of the motion before I give my ruling.

I give notice that I wish to move the following matter under Standing Order 29, as a matter requiring the urgent consideration of the House:

The apparent lack of courtesy with which the representative of the Dalai Lama was treated during his recent visit to Dublin.

Acting Chairman

I have given careful consideration to the matter raised by Senator Norris and I do not consider it to be a matter contemplated under Standing Order 29. Therefore, I regret I have to rule it out of order. I call on the Minister to reply to the motion.
