Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 6 Dec 1989

Vol. 123 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Avril Doyle that on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today she proposes to raise the following matter:

The serious implications of the Bridge Project report for the Irish dairy industry and the urgent need for action.

I also received notice from Senator Thomas Hussey of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment to sanction the Dunmore-Glenmaddy Regional Water Supply, Stage II, to Dunmore.

I also received notice from Senator David Norris of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health, in the light of the recent resignation of the Chairman of the Health Research Board due to unexpected arbitrary budgetary constraints imposed in the Estimate, to look urgently at the possibility of providing future adequate funding so that this important body can carry out its work in the national interest.

I also received notice from Senator Joe Costello of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to fulfil her commitment to the development of a new school in north Clondalkin for the students of St. Kevin's Community College who are in temporary accommodation.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Doyle, Hussey, Norris and Costello as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matter raised by Senator Doyle and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Hussey, Norris and Costello may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
