Vol. 128 No. 15

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have notice from Senator Cosgrave that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to provide aid as a matter of urgency to the victims of the disaster in Bangladesh.

I also received notice from Senator Upton of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to request the EC to act in consort with the rest of the international community to prevent the impending famine in Africa.

I also received notice from Senator Brendan Ryan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to discontinue the requirement that all travellers not living in permanent housing must sign on at labour exchanges at 11.30 a.m. on Thursdays.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cosgrave, Upton and Brendan Ryan as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Cosgrave's matter and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Upton and Ryan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
