Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 16 Jul 1992

Vol. 133 No. 20

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Upton that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to make regulations to ensure the system of environmental impact assessments complies with European law.

I also received notice from Senator Ó Cuív of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Welfare to consider giving pensioners on the Aran Islands limited access to free travel on Aer Arainn during the winter months, when travelling by sea is unsuitable for older people.

I also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to seek an immediate response from the EC to his submissions on disadvantaged areas once he received the results of the analysis from the appeals panel.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Upton, Ó Cuív and Ross as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Upton's and Ó Cuív's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Ross may give notice another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
