Vol. 137 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

An Leas-Chathaoirleach

I have notice from Senator R. Kiely that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to instruct or advise county councils when and where major roadworks are under construction that they be organised so as to cause least inconvenience to road users.

I also received notice from Senator Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to outline his plans for improvements in the dental services in County Clare and if he will provide staff and finance to deal with the current crisis in the service in County Clare.

I also received notice from Senator Dick Roche of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to outline the application of the Intoxicating Liquor Acts to wine licence sales from certain small retail outlets in Bray and Greystones, County Wicklow and the threat posed to the outlets in question by the application of the law in a manner which is not general throughout the county.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Kiely, Daly and Roche as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Kiely's and Daly's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Roche may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
