Wednesday, 2 Feb 1994

Vol. 139 No. 1

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to examine the recommendations of the Leader/ RRD report on milk suppliers in County Clare with a view to implementing them on a pilot basis in the county.

I also received notice from Senator McGowan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine to have a study carried out on the harmful effects of salmon farming in Irish waters.

I also received notice from Senator Daly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to outline how and when major reconstruction works will be carried out on the Kilrush to Ennis road, which is in a very bad condition and in a state of constant deterioration due to the amount of traffic.

I also received notice from Senator Farrelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to outline if she intends allocating sufficient funds for Scoil Éanna in Navan, County Meath, in her 1994 allocation.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to immediately grant funding to Limerick County Council to alleviate the disastrous situation of the regional and county roads.

I regard the matters raised by all the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Taylor-Quinn's and Senator McGowan's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
