Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Items 1 to 5, inclusive, which are the culmination of the motions we passed last week regarding the establishment of joint committees, without debate.

It is also proposed to take item 6; any vote needed to bring the proceedings on Second Stage of this Bill to a conclusion to be taken no earlier than 8 p.m. That is a change from the normal procedure. The proposal is that speakers will have not more than 30 minutes per person by agreement and there will be a sos from 6 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.

The Order of Business is agreed to. I compliment the Leader on the proposal to indicate the time of the vote in terms of organising business. It is appropriate.

I find it strange that we are sitting today. Senator O'Toole mentioned that we could organise ourselves but——

It was decided on Thursday by agreement of the House.

If it was decided on Thursday I find it strange because listening to the Rodney Rice programme on Saturday he said that the proceedings——

I am saying that it was decided by a motion of the House on Thursday evening.
