Wednesday, 6 Mar 1996

Vol. 146 No. 12

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Neville that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to outline the Government's actions in response to the nuclear incident that occurred in the vitrification plant at Sellafield on 2 February 1996.

I have also received notice from Senator Cotter on the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to encourage members of the dental profession to carry out certain orthodontic treatment in an effort to reduce the high cost of orthodontic treatment.

I have also received notice from Senator Farrelly on the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Education when approval will be given for the commencement of work on a new community school for Trim, County Meath.

I have also received notice from Senator Enright on the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Justice when the proposed extensions, renovations and improvements required in Tullamore Garda station will be carried out, and if she is aware of the current accommodation and safety problems at that station.

I regard the matters raised as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Neville's and Senator Cotter's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Farrelly and Senator Enright may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
