Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 28 Mar 1996

Vol. 146 No. 19

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Neville that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to appoint a remedial teacher to Glenbrohane, Knockadea, Ballylanders and Knocklong national schools in County Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Henry of the following matter:

In light of the exclusion of doctors in training from the provisions of EU Directive 93/104 concerning certain aspects of the organisation of working time, the need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to ensure that provision is made to regulate the extent of their working hours.

I have also received notice from Senator Fahey of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment if he will change legislation governing the compulsory acquisition of lands, to ensure that land owners are given adequate compensation for land being acquired for new road networks.

I regard the matters raised by Senator Neville and Senator Henry as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Fahey as it involves advocacy of legislation.
