Vol. 149 No. 6

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Fahey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment if he will meet a deputation from the Knocknacarragh combined residents association, Galway, with a view to providing £1 million to Galway Corporation for the Western Distributor Road.

I have also received notice from Senator Doyle of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment to provide special funding to Dublin Corporation for the reconstruction of Beach Road, Strand Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide a new classroom, toilet block and ancillary accommodation at Kilmurry national school, Ennis, County Clare; and if she is aware of the very real necessity of having the finance for this project included in the capital building programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Kelly of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry to outline the reason so few agricultural projects are being funded under the Leader II programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Farrelly of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Education if funding will be made available this year to ensure that the extension to St. Oliver Plunkett's school, Oldcastle, County Meath, can go ahead.

I regard the matters raised by Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and I have selected Senator Fahey's and Senator Doyle's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
