Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 14 Nov 1996

Vol. 149 No. 7

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide a new classroom, toilet block, and ancillary accommodation at Kilmurry national school, Ennis, County Clare, and if she is aware of the real necessity of having the finance for this project included in the capital works programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Hayes of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Finance to outline the views of the Government concerning the present VAT rate on bakery products in view of the detrimental effect this is having on employment in this sector.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they can be taken at the conclusion of business.
