Vol. 150 No. 11

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Mulcahy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide the necessary funds to enable the erection of a security fence around Bishop Galvin and Bishop Shanahan schools in Templeogue, given the repeated acts of vandalism which have occurred and are regularly occurring at these schools.

I also received notice from Senator Neville of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to ensure that the proposed extension to the Salesian secondary college, Pallaskenry, County Limerick, is completed in 1997.

I also received notice from Senator Fahey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to confirm that Gaelscoil Mhic Amhlaigh will go to tender and commence construction in 1997.

I also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to honour the existing agreement in which school transport is provided for post-primary pupils from Dysart, County Roscommon.

I also received notice from Senator Maloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to sanction the extension to Illistrin national school, Letterkenny, County Donegal.

I regard the matters raised by Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senator Mulcahy's and Senator Neville's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

I also have notice of a matter of concern from Senator Neville under Standing Order 30. It will be taken at the conclusion of business.
