Vol. 150 No. 16

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Naughten that, on the motion for the adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to curb the spiralling cost of car insurance, especially for young drivers.

I have also received notice from Senator Reynolds of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment to provide funding to Leitrim County Council for the development of the County Library Headquarters, Ballinamore, County Leitrim.

I have also received notice from Senator Manning of the following matter:

The refusal of the Minister for Education to recognise, for incremental purposes, the teaching years of B.Ed. national school teachers at St. Michael's junior school, Ailesbury Road, Dublin 4.

I have also received notice from Senator Enright of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide funding to the Midland Health Board to ensure the continuation of Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home, Tullamore, County Offaly, as a home for the elderly.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Naughten's and Reynolds's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
