I have received the following message from the President:
I, Mary Robinson, President of Ireland, do hereby inform you that after consultation with the Council of State I have referred the Bill entitled Equal Status Bill, 1997, pursuant to Article 26 of the Constitution, for decision on the question as to whether the said Bill or any provision or provisions thereof is or are repugnant to the Constitution or to any provision thereof.
