Vol. 154 No. 4

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation to outline his plans for the development of the Phoenix Park racecourse and the outcome of recent talks between the FAI, IRFU, the SONAS Group, Wimbledon FC and the Government.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to establish immediately the Tipperary Rural and Business Development Institute as a company, as the failure to do so is hindering the successful completion of the project.

I have also received notice from Senator Connor of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to review our bilateral aid agreement with Zambia in view of the anti-democratic trends and human rights abuses in that country.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Ryan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to address the need for urban renewal status to be granted to Balbriggan, County Dublin.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Costello and O'Meara as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Connor and Ryan may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

Before announcing the Order of Business I ask for the agreement of the House to two minutes' silence for peace at 11 a.m.

Is that agreed? Agreed.
