Vol. 155 No. 22

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Costello that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to retain the Breaking the Cycle scheme in operation in the Central Model School, Marlborough Street, and Scoil Mhuire, Dorset Street.

I have also received notice from Senator Mooney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to outline the steps he is taking to prevent the illegal entry of Romanian citizens into this country, allegedly through organised criminal elements in Europe, and if he has requested the French authorities to improve security at the seaport of Cherbourg.

I have also received notice from Senator Tom Hayes of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands to make funding available on a once-off basis to allow for the restoration of Fethard Abbey in County Tipperary.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senator Costello and Senator Mooney and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Tom Hayes may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
