Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 2 Jul 1998

Vol. 156 No. 9

Business of Seanad.

As we ran over time with the Economic and Monetary Union Bill, it is proposed that we proceed to the next item ordered for today whenever the Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Bill finishes.

Was a time imposed for the next item? I am not the spokesperson and our spokesperson may expect that item to begin at a prearranged time. I do not want to agree to something we may not be able to adhere to.

The debate on the Geneva Conventions (Amendment) Bill should have begun at 2.30 and we were then to take the motion on the terms of reference of the Flood Tribunal at 3 p.m. We are approximately 20 minutes behind time and we are seeking to make up that time.

Is the proposal agreed? Agreed.
