Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 19 May 1999

Vol. 159 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Finneran that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment and the IDA to promote the Bord na Móna site at Ballyforan as a suitable location for an industrial/manufacturing development.

I have also received notice from Senator Walsh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to extend the urban boundary of New Ross Urban District Council to include areas and townlands where the population will have a vote in the forthcoming local elections for New Ross Urban District Council, as also pertained in 1994.

I regard the matter raised by Senator Walsh as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and it will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I must disallow Senator Finneran's matter because the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment has no official responsibility in this matter, as it is a matter for the IDA.
