Vol. 162 No. 20

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Ridge that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs to address the discrimination against twins by equalising the monthly child benefit for twins with those of multiple births.

I have also received notice from Senator Finneran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to retain the ban on below cost selling.

I have also received notice from Senator John Cregan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources to make a statement on the KPMG report reviewing the operations and structures of the seaports in the Shannon estuary.

I have also received notice from Senator Cosgrave of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to outline his proposals for the extension of CCTV to areas in Dublin, in particular the Dún Laoghaire area, in view of the many demands from local and business interests following previous commitments given.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected Senators Ridge's and Finneran's matters and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Cregan and Cosgrave may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
