I move:
That Seanad Éireann approves the exercise by the State of the option, provided by Article 3 of the fourth Protocol set out in the Treaty of Amsterdam, to notify the President of the Council that it wishes to take part in the adoption and application of the following proposed measures:
a proposal for a Council Decision establishing a European Judicial Network in civil and commercial matters (COM (2000) 592 final);
a proposal for a Council Regulation on coop eration between the courts of the Member States in the taking of evidence in civil and commercial matters (JUSTCIV 103);
a proposal for a Council Regulation extending the programme of incentives and exchanges for legal practitioners in the area of civil law (Grotius – Civil). (COM (2000) 516 final).
