Vol. 169 No. 10

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Cassidy that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources to outline the steps, if any, he will take to prevent the culling of all fish, including trout, killed in nets of Lough Sheelin; and if he will consider extending the pike fishing season to all year round as Lough Sheelin is the only lake in Ireland that has a total closed season.

I have also received notice from Senator Glynn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to expedite the construction of the new gaelscoil at Ashe Road, Mullingar.

I have also received notice from Senator Taylor-Quinn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to provide additional funding for the National Roads Authority in order that work on the Ennis bypass can commence this year.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cassidy and Glynn as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Taylor-Quinn as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
