Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Mansergh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to take measures to address the spate of theft and vandalism of churches of different denominations in various parts of the country.

I have also received notice from Senator McHugh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline when the Youth Work Act 2001 will be fully implemented.

I have also received notice from Senator Kitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to outline the current position in relation to the sewerage scheme at Milltown, Tuam, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Terry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline when funding will be provided for the construction of a 16 classroom school at Castaheany, Dublin 15.

I have also received notice from Senator Morrissey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to make a statement on the level of suicide in Ireland and to clarify if the number of suicide victims who had been prescribed cipramil by their GPs and were on this medication when they committed suicide can be ascertained.

I have also received notice from Senator Tuffy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on the Government's plans following the report of the Commission on Science, Technology and Innovation and, in particular, to outline the strategy that is to be adopted regarding research and development expenditure as a result of the report.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Mansergh, McHugh and Kitt and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Terry, Morrissey and Tuffy may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
