Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 28 May 2003

Vol. 173 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Henry that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to conduct an audit of property owned by his Department to ascertain if there is any surplus to requirements that could be sold specifically to raise money to build a new hospital for the patients in the Central Mental Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Higgins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Defence to make a statement on the failure of his Department to make available the necessary funding for the refurbishment and upgrading of the military barracks in Castlebar, with the result that the summer training programme for the FCA cannot now go ahead.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
