Vol. 174 No. 18

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Mooney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to outline the steps he intends taking to enforce a worldwide ban on unsolicited e-mails, known as spam, and the advice he can give to PC users that will assist them in eliminating this spurious practice.

I have also received notice from Senator McHugh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the plans that are in place to increase the capitation grant to voluntary secondary schools to meet the cost of insurance.

I have also received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to indicate the steps being taken by his Department to prevent an outbreak of ring rot in the Irish potato crop.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.

Before I call the Leader of the House there is a correction to No. 2. The proceedings will conclude not later than 12.40 p.m, not 12.50 p.m. as stated in the motion.
