Vol. 174 No. 26

Business of Seanad.

An Cathaoirleach: I have received notice from Senator Kitt that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education and Science to approve funding for improvement works to Brierfield national school, Tuam, County Galway, Roll No. 14294W.
I have also received notice from Senator Ross of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to grant more visas to legitimate language schools, speed up the applications process and to take action on those schools which are abusing the work-study system.
I have also received notice from Senator Tuffy of the following matter:
The need for the Minister for Education and Science to give an update regarding the urgent need for a sports hall for Palmerstown community school and the community of Palmerstown. This sports hall was scheduled by the Department of Education and Science to be built by 2001 as part of an initiative involving the Departments of Community and Social Affairs and the Taoiseach, as part of a programme to develop community sports facilities in drugs task force areas. Will the Minister outline the schedule for building the sports hall under the recently announced schools building programme?
I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
