Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Morrissey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to introduce a driver learning skills educational program into the curriculum for transition year students on a countrywide basis together with the private sector.

I have also received notice from SenatorCummins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the current status of the application by Waterford Institute of Technology to attain university status, the steps necessary to achieving same and the timescale envisaged.

I have also received notice from Senator Coonan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to report on the progress of the long overdrawn design, build and operate sewerage scheme for Templemore town, County Tipperary.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to provide an update on the current status of the application made by Mac Eoin Park residents' association, Longford, for funding under the programme of grants for locally based community and voluntary organisations.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Morrissey, Cummins and Coonan and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Bannon may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
