Seanad Éireann debate -
Thursday, 6 Dec 2007

Vol. 187 No. 26

Business of Seanad.

I have notice from Senator Pearse Doherty that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to introduce measures to reduce the exorbitant cost of motor insurance in this State, especially for young drivers.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to outline the supports he intends to pursue for marching bands given that the new year will begin the season of activities that will entertain communities throughout the country should they be given some finance to survive.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Corrigan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to give an update on the proposed child care subvention scheme.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
