Joint Committee on the Constitutional Amendment on Children: Motion.

I move:

That Seanad Éireann, notwithstanding the Order of 22 November 2007, requesting that the Joint Committee on the Constitutional Amendment on Children examine the Twenty-Eighth Amendment of the Constitution Bill 2007 and consider the text set out in the Schedule to that Bill with regard to the matters set out in the Orders of Reference of the Joint Committee, and to report back to each House with recommendations in a final report four months from the date of establishment, now requests the Joint Committee to report back not later than 30 November 2008, and paragraph (5) of the Orders of Reference shall be substituted by the following: ‘The Joint Committee shall have the powers defined in Standing Orders 70(1) to (9) inclusive and 86(2)'."
