Seanad Éireann debate -
Wednesday, 9 Dec 2009

Vol. 199 No. 5

Business of Seanad.

I have received notice from Senator Shane Ross that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to ensure access to export credit insurance for exporters.

I have also received notice from Senator Pearse Doherty of the following matter:

As hundreds of students will not receive their first instalment of the student grant until 2010, the need for the Minister for Education and Science to ensure no potential grant recipient in Letterkenny Institute of Technology will be unjustly penalised or forced to pay a proportion of the registration fee owing to the fact that he or she has not yet received confirmation from awarding bodies of grant applications.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to make a statement on his plans to integrate the community development programme with the local development social inclusion programme.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
