Vol. 208 No. 7

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator David Cullinane that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to ensure that commitments given to replace St. Bridget's ward at St. Patrick's Hospital in Waterford with a new 50-bed geriatric facility are acted upon and addressed as a matter of urgency.

I have also received notice from Senator Terry Leyden of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the retention of the 24-hour, seven day a week accident and emergency service at Roscommon County Hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to outline the reasons scoil náisiúnta Thír an Fhia, Leitir Mór, was refused in its application to participate in the summer improvements scheme; and the urgent need for this issue to be addressed, given the long-standing need for such improvements.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
