Vol. 219 No. 2

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

Go dtabharfaidh an tAire Dlí agus Comhionannais briseadh síos maidir leis an gcostas in aghaidh an duine d'iarrthóirí tearmainn chun iad a choinneáil sa chóras soláthair dhíreach, céard a íoctar leis na daoine féin agus céard a íoctar leis na hionaid.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to further regulate the tobacco industry in Ireland in light of the recent introduction of packs of 23 cigarettes and to regulate the new methods of in-store promotion of cigarettes.

I have also received notice from Senator Jimmy Harte of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to clarify the reason some citizens over 91 years of age and without the capacity to make decisions are being asked to complete medical card review forms.

I have also received notice from Senator Paul Coghlan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht to clarify the situation regarding the size of the Kerry Red Deer herd and the need to protect the gene pool.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
