Vol. 219 No. 9

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator David Cullinane that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to outline the long-term plans the OPW has for the 80 acres and house at Mount Congreve Estate where the OPW has a freehold.

I have also received notice from Senator Fidelma Healy Eames of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health to outline the criteria used to determine the eligibility of children with rare, life-threatening cancers and other illnesses for financial support from the HSE so that they may be included on clinical trials in foreign jurisdictions.

I have also received notice from Senator Lorraine Higgins of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the remedial action he intends to take to assist Galway County Council in dealing with an urgent environmental problem which has arisen with a wastewater treatment plant at Dun Ard, Craughwell, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Marc MacSharry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to provide a breakdown of the money spent on public sector staff sick pay and private sector staff sick pay in 2010 and 2011 and the anticipated spend for 2012.

I have also received notice from Senator Michael Comiskey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to confirm if the residence of Seán Mac Diarmada, one of the signatories of the 1916 Proclamation, will receive investment funding for the development of tourist services and facilities to assist in the continuing conservation of this historical site.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to put in place a comprehensive testing programme for children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus as there is a severe difficulty in accessing vital urology services.

I have also received notice from Senator Paul Bradford of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government if the present north, south and west divisional structures within Cork County Council will remain in place once the local election boundaries are reviewed and adjusted and if so, if a certain minimum number of councillors will be elected for each of the divisions.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Cullinane, Healy Eames, Higgins and MacSharry as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Comiskey, Colm Burke and Bradford may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
